Some personal good news.
This week, I was elected as the chair of Haringey Council’s Overview and Scrutiny Committee. This is a very big responsibility holding the executive to account. Hope I can discharge my role with diligence.
As a ward Councillor, I regularly help residents by raising all sorts of casework on their behalf. I have received two thank you messages from two residents today. I will share one here:
“Hello Cllr Moyeed
I just wanted to send a message to thank you for getting in touch with Haringey SEN on behalf of us and our son. They have been in touch and assured us that they are working on getting our son into school as soon as possible.
Many thanks for your help.
I will give you an update once he is in school.
Wishing you a lovely weekend and all the best.”
The purpose of my post is to inspire others to consider becoming a Councillor in next year’s local elections across London. It may be a small thing that you do, but it can make a huge difference to a resident.
